Overall, a great tomahawk. It was chopping well out of the box, but much better after I spent a few minutes honing the edge. While it might not be the best at chopping, the Cold steel Trailhawk is great for throwing and the looser head is actually perfect for it. i would suggest wrapping the head in place if your would like to have a "stronger" connection at that handle. Just don't screw it because the handle will be under too much stress.

The Trail Hawk is one of the lighter hawks you can find. I bought two of these hawks to study for a martial arts form and for their historical usage. The Trail Hawk is easy to handle due to the weight. The handles can be a bit slick so you need to "personalize" them and cut in grooves. The hammer is solid and adds to the weapon's lethal nature. The adze is smaller than most hawks and requires more skill to use. I did not buy these hawks for throwing so I cannot offer any review on this. Knife Hog has the best prices on the internet plus they ship quickly!
